Former owner of Derby Village store for twenty years. I have been a Realtor since 2002. My wife and I live in Derby and have a summer cottage on Seymour Lake. Downhill skiing, hunting, and the love of Standard bred horses and Dachshunds, and spending time at the lake is what I enjoy.

Buyer reviewHoward was the best real estate agent we have ever worked with. Howard is represents the best of what we believe a professional century 21 agent could be. Howard negotiated a great price for us. Howard battled tooth and nail for us getting us to closing, keeping stress away all the while as he continued to work diligently with our attorney to make what could have been a difficult time be seamless and stress free. Out attorney told us after the closing that with out Howard we most likely never could have pulled it off. Going forward as Vermont residents we look forward to having Howard as both a friend and a neighbor. I know we will be keeping in touch with him. Sincerely Liam&Sage Dugan

He knows who I need to contact and tells me ahead of time when certain things will need to be done so I can plan accordingly. I highly recommend Howard! Throughout the process I encountered people who smiled when I told them I was working with him. He is always professional and a very respected member of this community. He made buying a home so stress-free, he explained everything (lots of paperwork!) and answered all my questions. I never felt he was trying to rush me through a home and waited patiently as I looked around. And when Howard knew what I was looking for, recommended I "just take a look" at the house that ended up being exactly what I wanted.

He was knowledgeable about everything we asked, and he was very pleasurable to deal with and he has a no nonsense attitude that we really appreciated. He stuck with us for over 5 months working tirelessly to help find the perfect property for us. We flew in from south Florida to meet Howard at the general store in Troy. We rented a truck and drove up from Burlington to meet him. He was there exactly at the time we agreed to. Without a doubt he is the best broker we have met. We highly recommend Howard and feel like he is a part of our family now. For the work Howard put into helping us find our piece of heaven in Vermont we want to have him for a dinner on us. He wrote multiple addendums and had our back every step of the way. Nothing shook Howard. He was always on the deal and looking out for our interests. Even when lawyers and selling agents were slow to answer, Howard took care of us himself.
