I am delighted to be back in the business of helping people with their real estate needs. I was first licensed as a Realtor after graduating college in the early 80's. I joined Action Realty, my family's real estate firm. A few years later I accepted a position with the State of California. Now, 26 years later, when technology seems to have changed so much in the world, I find that not much has changed in the real estate business. It is still about helping people buy and sell property and helping them make their dreams come true.

I earned a photojournalism degree in college. I wanted to help people by telling their stories with my camera. Who knew I'd instead spend the next 26 years helping California citizens by analyzing legislation and new California laws. Now I help people buy or sell their first home or move-up home, a retirement home or investment property.

I'm originally from Alabama. My Dad was a member of the United States Air Force. Our family lived in many places before getting stationed in Solano County and settling there. We would pack, move, and unpack repeatedly. Moving didn't always feel like an adventure for me and my younger sister. We found that being the new kid at school each year had its challenges. That's why my Realtor team mate and Mom, Lucilla (Ms. Lou) Hazard and I treat each clients relocation with tender efficiency. That is also why we don't look at any client as a paycheck. We make every effort to protect each person we work for by keeping the American dream of home ownership from becoming an American nightmare.

Mom's been in real estate over 45 years. We reside together in a one story mid-century modern bungalow situated on a lush garden lot. I love to tend my garden and Ms. Lou loves to entertain and cook. Works out pretty well wouldn't you say? My daughter graduated law school in Seattle, Washington and now resides in Chicago, Illinois.

I make sure that people know I'm a real estate professional by proudly wearing my Century 21 MM name badge everywhere I go. I want everyone to know who I am and what I do. I want people to know my name is Rita and I can help them purchase, sell and exchange real property. I want every person I meet to ask me, "Oh, you're in real estate?"

The job of a Realtor is to support you in selling or finding the right home with the best possible terms, and to aid you through the entire process. I will explain the process of selling or buying a home and familiarize you with the various activities, documents and procedures that you will experience throughout the transaction. Selling or buying a home is a huge decision to make. Having someone who is experienced, honest and caring can make a big difference. Due to my years of experience in Real Estate right here in Northern California I have a complete understanding of the entire selling and buying process.
