The Edmond Convention and Tourism Bureau, http://visitedmondok.com/events.php, is the place to go when looking for things to do in Edmond. July/August has lots of fun activities for the family as well as a little date night fun for adults. Mitch Park is always busy with walking trails and lots of play areas for kids. The Park also has a Farmer's Market from 8-1 on Wednesdays. (Not to be confused with the Farmers Market in Downtown Edmond on Saturdays - it's awesome.) Get some fresh produce and products made right here in Oklahoma. August 11 is movie night at the Mitch Park with Middle School: The Worst Year Of My Life. It's free with $1 concessions. Don't forget the skate board park sponsored by Mathis Bros. It's always busy and it has lights for evening fun as well. Talking about Park activities, Hafer Park has concerts in the Park. The next one is July 27th and it's free. Bring your blanket and water and enjoy some awesome music. Pelican Bay is the place to go for swimming pool fun. They even have movies like The Lego Movie. Something the whole family will like is Hurd On Hurd sponsored by Citizens Bank of Edmond. Tons of food trucks, craft booths and live music. The next one is August 19th. For a little adult time, you can count on The Patriarch Craft Beer House to have live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Love sitting outside listening to good music. Edgar Cruz, one of my favorite local artists, is going to be there on July 27. Can't wait! Don't forget The Jazz Lab. They have some great R & B and Jazz scheduled for July 27. Edmond is a great city to raise your famliy. Great schools and constantly growing. Shoping is wonderful here also. We support our colleges and our Thunder NBA team. Roads and highways are constantly updating. Good thorough fares to Tinker and Downtown areas. less
