When I decided to purchase a home in the Coos Bay/North Bend area there were a large number of established Realtors from which to choose. Chelsea Kahler of Century 21 Realty caught my attention due to the fact that her bio noted she was raised locally. Ms. Kahler's insight of the Bay Area and its housing market did indeed turn out to be of great benefit, and with her assistance I found a perfect home after just two days of searching. I was living three and a half hours away from Coos Bay when I started my search here, so it was vital that my time looking at properties was spent efficiently. Ms. Kahler was good enough to block two entire days out of her schedule to accommodate me. Upon meeting Ms. Kahler for the first time at the Century 21 Office, she presented me with a professional and personalized binder customized to my hunt. Ms. Kahler had researched the specific properties in which I had expressed interest, and had added information on several other similar properties. The details which Ms. Kahler provided were more than a simple compilation of facts gleaned from real estate websites- she had gone as far as to contact the local realtors listing said properties so as to add more depth. While our first day looking at properties wasn't fruitful (two homes were taken off the market due to offers having been made even as we were touring the homes), Ms. Kahler was sharp enough to get a sense of exactly what it was I was looking for. On our second day together, Ms. Kahler took me to see several homes which she knew better fit my plans. It was this insight which allowed me to view the exact property I wanted, and the timeliness provided by Ms. Kahler's expertise worked to my advantage. When I decided on a home, Ms. Kahler made an immediate phone call to the listing broker, only to discover that several offers had already been made on the property. Yet due to Ms. Kahler's expertise she was able to get my offer in front of the owner, and it was promptly accepted. Once my offer was in Ms. Kahler provided me with a second binder, one which listed all information I needed to choose from a long list of potential home inspectors. Ms. Kahler then worked with the inspector and my lender in order to assure a smooth transaction. I was provided with copies of all pertinent communications between Ms. Kahler, the inspector, my lender, and the local Title company. I found Ms. Kahler's efforts to be most professional in their tone and content. While Ms. Kahler is relatively new to the real estate field, she has an in-depth knowledge of the workings of the profession. There was only one of many questions on technicalities and legal matters that I put to Ms. Kahler which she could not answer. However, within five minutes of admitting that she wasn't certain of the response, Ms. Kahler had researched the matter and provided me with the proper answer. The sign of a true professional is the ability to admit that one doesn't know everything, while at the same time possessing the intelligence and the diligence to have developed the necessary resources which can fill in any gaps. As a person, Ms. Kahler is warm and responsive, yet she is bold enough to point out potential needs of a property which a layman such as myself might not detect. And while the real estate profession is sales-based, I never felt any undue pressure from Ms. Kahler to consider making a purchase. The process of buying a home is a difficult and stressful one- even more so with the current state of the housing market in which one has to act swiftly. To be successful one has to have a Realtor that is knowledgeable, communicates well, and has common sense. Chelsea Kahler possesses all of these qualities, and I highly recommend her services.
