The characteristics that made this process easier to manage included Debbie's gentle kindness, her approachability, her consistently generous way of explaining and answering questions even multiple times. Her knowledge and expertise was evident at our first meeting so in the middle of absorbing unfamiliar language and vocabulary, Debbie made me feel both comfortable and willing to ask for clarification when I needed it. She is extremely genial and put me at ease. The most important thing that occurred during this process was her encouragement for me to not settle for something. She said wait until you have that feeling and then you'll know. And I did and I'm very grateful for her guidance and kindness and significant expertise.
