Between my parents and I, we have purchased and/or sold four properties in Virginia Beach with the assistance of Marchell Puckett (ReMax Central Realty) as our broker. Her knowledge, service, and commitment to fulfilling our specific needs was top notch, and she continued to be of service and make herself available throughout the time between deals. Not once had we even considered reaching out to another agent. Unfortunately, I called Marchell to line up the sale of my home and discovered that she was no longer in the area. Knowing my motivations and intent (buy depressed and renovate), she strongly urged that I contact Doug Albert (Nachman Realty) - someone she knew personally with the experience and skill-set to give me sound advice while searching for the next opportunity. She knew Doug would help me land the "right" deal. Being interested in a fixer, I was set on finding a house with "just enough" off or out-of-date at the right price in the right location - a tall order during this timeframe due to market conditions. Doug took me to see three properties that peaked my interest, each of which were strong contenders when it came to the vision of what could be done. But after viewing, Doug worked through the numbers and advised that the area/neighborhoods could not support the extent of planned work we had discussed. Try four, and we found the winning ticket…but an offer was accepted same day before I could pull everything together to support my own. Two weeks later, and we stumbled upon a hidden gem of a deal. Offer was submitted and accepted on short order, then it was time for the home inspection. Doug was spot on with his initial assessments, and Doug's inspector was THOROUGH leading to an interesting and prolonged negotiating period. Doug represented my interests extremely well and was able to land the exact deal I needed to move forward. This one was a tough one, but Doug made it happen! Three weeks in the house now, and all aspects (house, neighborhood, local amenities, etc.) are even better than I allowed myself to recognize along the way. Projects begin soon, which will only heighten this already amazing experience. Now the challenge is how NOT to get attached…that'll be the trick. If it wasn't for Doug's expertise and advice, I would surely have missed out.

She knew he would be great on the sell-side, but she also knew I would be looking to take on another project. Doug made the sale of my house relatively effortless on my part - preparation, listing, and negotiations were a breeze. The day of the photo shoot, I had yet to install the under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Doug, willfully and without being solicited, offered up his services and helped complete the installation - which unfortunately took way longer than it should have due to the tediousness of the fixture design. Thankfully, when I suggested we stop and go ahead with the pictures, Doug insisted that we keep going and not take any photos until the lights were up. What a difference it made on the overall feel of the room (can't believe I finally put them up just in time for the next owner to enjoy)…well worth the effort though! The photo shoot went smoothly, the ad was well written, and four showings were booked within two hours of going live (same day as the listing posted). The house went under contract in four days, and closed in roughly four weeks. All in all, Doug made it an extremely smooth and uneventful process. Quick sale at the right price.

Doug's knowledge of the area is top notch. With me being a first-time home buyer, Doug did a great job with helping me navigate the home search and buying process. The home I purchased has lots of custom intricacies and Doug demonstrated a good deal of knowledge around all the upgrades. Even with a few hiccups along the way, Doug was able to keep our closing on track and helped all parties keep a even keel and not panic. I'd highly recommend Doug to both first-time buyers and seasoned veterans alike! Thanks for all your hard work Doug!

Matt in the Lake James Century 21 Office had been our most recent rental property manager for 3725 Gladstone Drive, Virginia Beach. When we decided it was time to sell, asked Matt for recommendation for a top notch agent, who would work well with us in reaching our goal of a good, successful sale. He felt Doug would be the right match for us. He was so correct in his assessment. We did not live in the area, and had been with Century 21 for many years. As mentioned previously, Doug was all of these and more. Doug was truly the professional real estate gentleman we had hoped and prayed to find. He was very patient with us, especially in helping us with long distance on line documents. We could not have had a better experience than he provided. We would rate him a 12+ on a 10 point scale!! Doug was our only Century 21 sales person contact. The best!! Doug's part in all of this experience was great.However, I could not say the same for the buyers agent. Doug was the consummate professional who paid great attention to detail and was so knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to finally meet him in person ! A simple thank you is not enough. You do not want to loose him!!

Doug is absolutely wonderful! He walked us through everything and in doing so answered any questions we had about the process. He's very attentive, excellent at timely and detailed updates, professional and personable all at once! I will recommend him to everyone in the area looking to buy or sell! I'm extremely happy we went with Doug over the others!
