Lyn Matteson began his career in real estate in 2001 with Century 21 Champion. Born and raised in upstate New York, Lyn grew up on his family's dairy farm where he learned the value of hard work, commitment and dependability. He graduated Cornell University and soon began working in the automobile field, starting as a sales person. He ended his 20-year career in this field as a General Sales Manager. He left New York because of the harsh winters and relocated to North Carolina to be near family where he met the love of his life, Judy Matteson, owner and operator of Surf City Florist. Lyn is known for his strong negotiating skills, quick wit and a genuine passion for helping people. Lyn's success is based on the foundation of serving his client's needs. Customer service is his top priority and it shows in everything he does. One of his proudest moments is when Lyn first received the Century 21 Corporate Pinnacle Award in 2006 - an award presented to recognize those who excel in customer service. He has continued to receive this prestigious award consistently ever since. Lyn is also very active with our community as well as to our Board of REALTORS®, where he has served as a Director for many years. Always quick to lend a hand, he steps up and steps in to help without hesitation, he is a firm believer in giving back to the community and organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, Easter Seals and the Onslow County Women's Shelter. Buyer reviewMr. Matteson was fantastic during the search for our new home. He made sure we could see the houses before making any decisions via video. After making our decision Mr. Matteson arranged all inspection prior to closing allowing us to time to pack up and move from Nevada. Mr. Matteson allowed me to call anytime day or night if I had question or concerns. I would ask for his assistance in the future and differently refer all friends to him. 100 % thumbs up to Lyn Matteson.

Buyer reviewHe assisted my family on another purchase in the past. I was extremely grateful for all his assistance and knowledge of the area and things that we thought were important to us. I now consider him a friend and not just my real estate agent. My wife and I can not say enough in favor of Lyn. He was there for us when we needed him, kept us informed of all that was going on, and took all the worries that we had and made us relaxed during the hurricane and afterwards. As I said, we lived in NY and Lyn was our man on the scene. We are extremely grateful to him for all he did for us Moving from NY to NC was somewhat stressful, being that we didn't truly know the area and limited contacts. Lyn made it seem easy and took a lot of burden off our move. We truly can not say enough in his honor for all the help that he provided. The same goes for CENTURY 21 Champion Real Estate. Everyone should have as smooth an operation as we encountered. He assisted in our obtaining a mortgage at a fair and reasonable rate, negotiating the price down to one that we could afford, and oversaw all the inspections, repairs, and closing requirements to assists us. We were in NY at the time and the hurricane had come and devastated parts of the area. Lyn kept us informed of how the house was, if there was any problems, and what the progress was within the area. He was our eyes and ears to all the issues that we were concerned about. I can't say enough in his favor and I am indebted to him for his service to us Anytime I called, they were there for me as if I was one of the family. Everyone was professional, helpful, and made sure that there was full coordination between myself and Lyn.
