Personal Profile
I am originally from Michigan and came to the D.C. area to work on the Hill. Children and lifestyles changed that, and I was introduced to the real estate business by a property manager when my family lived in London, England. I decided to try it out when we returned to Alexandria, and it was a natural fit! I just love my job! That was back in 1992, and I've been full time - with another short break back to London - ever since. In 2014, I added property management to my list of options for property owners. I help owners prepare their homes for rent or sale. I educate buyers on the entire purchasing process and represent them every step of the way. Many of my clients have chosen to write testimonials for me, and they are available here on my website for your review. I specialize in neighborhoods from Falls Church south to Lorton, Va. I am a member of NVAR, VAR and NAR. I am now a Lifetime Member of the NVAR Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club. Experience matters!

Buyer reviewI was referred to Maggie Britvec by my next door neighbor. Her experience living in our local community (Huntington), was paramount when finding a place. She was able to use her experience to identify concerns and flaws (I looked at properties that were built in the 1940's), and was even able to identify properties before they were available on online. With the property market being as 'hot' as it is right now, I can safely say that I was only able to find and close on this place because of Maggie. As a first time home buyer, I had many concerns, and she was able to address them. Even though I was pre-qualified at one credit union, she politely encouraged me to use a different union, where I was able to secure an even better mortgage. Even now after I have closed on the house, she is still helping me by referring me to contractors she would recommend. In my opinion there is no real estate agent with more experience than Maggie Britvec (at least in our neighborhood of Huntington & Jefferson Manor just outside Alexandria). It felt like I was not using an agent to find a home, but instead being helped by a friend.

Seller reviewMaggie went above and beyond getting our house on market in that: 1) she cleaned up for us after we moved out with leaving a mess 2) had great contractor connections for fixing the home up to maximize return, she also advised us on color schemes and other materials 3) met with contractors and handled details at the house while we were living out of state She is great to work with! Always timely in responding and also prompting us when we had action items. We would have sold months later than we did without her help.
