I called Ruthan when I found listings on Realtor.com located in LOW that were of interest to us. I went through the entire Century 21 Redwood Realty website and read all the biographies and information on each agent before I selected Ruthan to represent us. I was impressed with her bio and that she appeared to be an expert on the Fredericksburg/Lake of the Woods area. Then when we discovered she lived in LOW herself, that made the difference. Ruthan patiently showed us approximately 30 homes over the course of 9 months. We wrote an offer on one home, subject to the sale of our home, and it fell through because of a structural problem we had with our basement. We felt so bad for ourselves and the seller, but Ruthan kept encouraging us throughout the ordeal and as a result we never lost hope. She made such a great impression on the seller of the home we put the offer on, that even after our deal fell through, she was able to list and sell the house for the owners. Very impressive! We spent several months getting our home repaired so we could sell it again and while we did so, Ruthan stayed in touch regularly and kept a positive attitude; always reassuring us we would find the home we wanted. She was always so kind and positive. Ruthan listened carefully to our needs and ended up finding us the home of our dreams. She is one of the most caring and professional agents we have ever worked with. Her manner is so calm and pleasant and her knowledge of the local market and real estate as a whole is amazing. Each time we came down to look, I shared a list of 16 - 20 homes I wanted to see and she would work feverishly to ensure we got to see them in a day. It was so much work on her part; but he never lost a beat. She never pushed or presented a "hard sale" attitude to us and we thoroughly appreciated that. Ruthan is the kind of agent that makes people respect the real estate profession and we feel very lucky to have gotten the opportunity to work with her. We would recommend her to anyone in the future and will never use another agent in this area. Century 21 Redwood brokerage is very lucky to have her representing them. We also had the privilege of working with Carrie Hush on the closing end of our contract. Carrie was just wonderful when she represented us at closing because Ruthan was out of town; we didn't know her well, but felt as if we were left in very capable hands.
