Your Beacon to the American Dream Lighthouse Team Lead Tom Millar and his wife Paula moved to the Northern Virginia area with their four children when he was stationed there in late 1995 with the Air Force. After another 10 years and two back-to-back military assignments, he completed a satisfying career in the United States Air Force retiring with 20 years of service as a Major and Chief Systems Engineer for a large defense communications organization in the area.
Choosing Real Estate Having completed engineering degrees at Arizona State University and Stanford University, Tom was well poised to continue on as a Defense contractor…but there was something missing. He felt God was leading him to something different where he could help people in more tangible ways. Real Estate seemed to be a natural transition, and he began his Real Estate career in early 2004.
Now, after 12 years and closing on over 330 transactions, Tom and The Lighthouse Team has the experience base you need to help you with a listing or a purchase in the Northern Virginia area. Ranked the #17 top producer in the Mid-Atlantic, Tom leads the Lighthouse Team consisting of Bill DePugh (USAF Retired military), Rebecca Ferguson, Kelsi Andrade, Maggie Angell, and Sara Rudolph.
Area Expertise Lighthouse Team Real Estate is very familiar with the Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun County areas, having helped hundreds of buyers and sellers in all three counties. After asking the appropriate questions regarding his experience and clarifying what we were looking for in both the purchase of a new home and the sale of our current home we felt very comfortable with Tom. Turns out it was a great pairing... good dynamics from the beginning. Top notch representative... would recommend his services to anyone looking to sell/purchase a home. Tom was pretty savvy regarding the purchase strategy for initiating the contract for our new home as well as developing the sales strategy for the home we were marketing. He was also extremely patient and helpful in researching and arranging showings for potential properties that met our requirements for a new home. Once the decision to initiate an offer was made, he helped us to negotiate terms for purchase that were advantageous for both us and the sellers. The resources he had available and applied to market the sale of our home were outstanding. No doubt that his experience and know-how were well worth the investment for his services. All of the C21NM staff were extremely helpful and professional. Mitzie Priuss was simply outstanding both personally and professionally. We are absolutely confident that Mitzie applied her expertise to insure that we got the very best terms available for the mortgage on our new home. Already making recommendations within the community. Although it took a bit longer to sell our home than expected, the final result met all of our expectations. I have recommended C21NM and Tom Millar to two adjoining neighbors who have indicated that they are contemplating the sale of their homes within the next year.

Buyer reviewTom Millar did an excellent job of highlighting the pros and cons of each property we viewed based on the home priorities we had listed. He filtered the listings to avoid spending time on properties that did not fulfill our desires and was very flexible in arranging home viewings to meet our schedule. Across the board a great dynamic with Tom. Never made us feel uncomfortable in any way, answered some pretty complex questions with the necessary detail to provide us with the information we needed to make significant decisions. If he didn't have the answer, he got it for us quickly and did a great job of follow-up when necessary.
